We just heard Skateboarder Magazine will discontinue publishing with the release of this week’s digital edition and companion limited edition print version. A sad day for the sport but not the first hiatus for the magazine. After releasing four issues in 1964 and 1965, the publication ceased until the big skateboard revival of 1975. It then took a long break from the early 1980s till 1997 when a special issue edited by Tony Hawk reestablished its frequency and carried it to present day. Hopefully this latest news is just another temporary breather for the iconic magazine. Here’s a look at the four covers from the sixties.
